Conti Direct Investments
We invest with trusted partners to grow the value of industry-leading food and ag businesses in the public and private markets across North and Latin America. Our investments range from Ceva, a leading player in animal health; to Agile, an automated cold storage operator; to Restaurant Brands International (RBI), one of the world’s largest quick service restaurant companies; to Restaurant Technologies, a provider of cooking oil management services for over 32,000 foodservice outlets; to Bunge, one of the world’s largest ingredient providers.
We invest behind founders of early-stage growth businesses that are using cutting edge technology to define the future of food and agriculture. Our portfolio spans the value chain including ag biotech, digital infrastructure, alternative protein, novel ingredients, animal health/nutrition and downstream enterprise technology for restaurants and retailers. Examples include Pivot Bio’s microbes that can fix nitrogen, displacing synthetic fertilizer use; Brightseed’s analytics engine that can help create novel food ingredients from plants that improve human health; and Bushel’s leading digital infrastructure that connects growers and grain buyers across North America.
We have a 40-year track record of supporting efficient agricultural practices in China with livestock feed operations ContiFeed and, via a joint venture with the CP Group of Thailand, CCTI. In addition, we support the growth and expansion of first- and second- generation Asian entrepreneurs that are industrializing and modernizing the food and ag value chain through active minority investments. Our Chinese portfolio includes Yangxiang, a leader in modern animal husbandry, and Gaosai, one of the highest quality husbandry equipment and trucking providers.
